A guided tongue & eye observation
What Your Body Shows Us
In clinic, before a single question is asked, a naturopathic doctor and acupuncturist is already observing — the tongue, the eyes, the skin. This short experience shows you what that kind of looking can (and can't) reveal, using photographs you take yourself.
What you'll do
- Take one photo of your tongue and one of your eyes, following simple instructions
- Answer a few optional questions for context
- Receive a personalized educational summary: what's visible, how Traditional Chinese Medicine has historically viewed such features, and thoughtful questions to bring to a clinician
Takes about 7–10 minutes. Participation is entirely optional.
Your photos never leave your device
Everything here runs privately in your own browser. Your photographs are never uploaded, never stored, and never seen by anyone — including us. Close this page and they're gone. Nothing you enter is saved or sent anywhere.
What this is — and isn't
This is an educational look at what's visible in a photograph. It is not a medical diagnosis, not an examination, and not a substitute for care. A photo alone cannot determine the cause of anything it shows — and a normal-looking photo is not evidence of good health. If you have urgent symptoms, please don't use this tool — seek care directly.
Before we begin
A quick safety check
Some symptoms deserve real care right away — not a wellness tool. Are you currently experiencing any of the following?
Please seek care now — this tool isn't the right next step
This experience will not continue, because a wellness report is not what you need right now. Nothing you entered has been saved.

Consent to an educational experience
Please read this — it's short and it matters.
- This is an educational wellness experience, not a medical diagnosis, examination, or treatment.
- It does not create a doctor–patient relationship with Dr. Rayna Dvorak.
- Results may be incomplete or inaccurate. Consumer photographs have major limitations — lighting, camera settings, and recent food or drink all change what's visible.
- Do not delay or avoid medical care based on anything you read here. This tool is not for emergencies.
- How your photos are handled: they are processed only inside your browser on your own device. They are never uploaded, never stored, never used to train any model, and no third party receives them. When you close this page — or tap "Delete everything" — they are gone.
- Your questionnaire answers are held only in this page's memory and are discarded the same way.
- No email is required. Your results appear on screen and can be printed or saved by you, locally.
- You choose whether to proceed, and you can stop at any point.

Taking photos worth looking at
Good light is everything. A photo we can't read fairly, we won't pretend to read.
Tongue photo
- Use natural daylight near a window — avoid warm bathroom lighting
- No filters, no portrait mode, no flash if possible
- Wait at least 30–60 minutes after eating, coffee, tea, colored drinks, candy, mouthwash, brushing or scraping your tongue, or smoking — all of these change tongue color and coating
- Remove gum or lozenges
- Face the camera, extend your tongue naturally (no forcing), whole tongue in frame, in focus, no shadows
Upload your tongue photo
Analyzed on your device only. Never uploaded.
Eye photo
- Indirect natural light, no flash, no filters
- Remove colored contact lenses; remove eye makeup if you can
- Both eyes open naturally — don't force the lids
- One clear photo of the eye region of your face, in focus, avoiding reflections
- Do not photograph an eye after injury or chemical exposure — seek care instead
Upload your eye photo
Analyzed on your device only. Never uploaded.
You can continue with one photo or both. At least one accepted photo is needed.

Guided observation
A photograph plus your own eyes, up close, beat any algorithm working alone. Look at your photo (or a mirror) and confirm what you actually see. Skip anything you're unsure about.
A little context — all optional
Help us read the picture fairly
No feature means much on its own. Every question below is optional and has a "prefer not to answer" choice. Answers stay on this device and are never sent anywhere.
